Mothering's O'Mara Sets the Record Straight: Breast is Best

The editorial responds to the controversial and much publicized article by Hanna Rosin in the April 2009 issue of the Atlanta Monthly, entitled "The Case Against Breastfeeding." "Hanna Rosin's article exposes the dichotomy between the high value we place on breastfeeding and the low value we place on mothering, but it is cowardly to blame breastfeeding," states O'Mara.
